I grew up swimming in this beautiful bay. My parents had a cottage just down the lane and my brother lives next door.
For 11 years I lived abroad with my growing family in Germany. When we moved back to Canada, we built this house, and it was here that I learned the art of being a good host and a lot more about entertaining and cooking beautiful food for people I love. My European friends and relatives came to visit us in the summers which meant a constant buzz of energy and joy in the home.
Opening The Empty Nest, after my kids left, was a way for me to continue sharing this beautiful, peaceful place with you!
I enjoy making people feel welcome and comfortable in my home. I like decorating and making the house look extra pretty. It's the anticipation of sharing this beautiful place and all that Prince Edward County has to offer.
The Empty Nest is more than just a bed and breakfast. Located right on the waterfront, I guarantee my guests a private beach for swimming and front row seats for sunsets all year around.
Disconnect. Leave it all behind. Come enjoy this place of peace and tranquility. Curl up on a lawn chair with a book. Listen to the sounds of nature – the waves lapping the shore, the wind in the trees, the call of the loons. Swim in the warm lake water. Watch the sunset and stargaze at night… the possibilities are endless. When hunger strikes, head to one of several excellent restaurants. Many of the wineries and breweries also have great food – from fresh pasta to wood-fired pizza! On your journey back, bring a bottle of wine and wander down to the water.

The Bay View Suite features a king size bed and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water. Its known for its “wow” factor.
The Nest Suite features a bedroom facing the water, adjacent sitting room and beautifully appointed bathroom, all tucked away like its own private suite.
